Best Movies
The Academy awards ceremony is coming up. April 25th to be exact. Less than a month and there are eight best movies this year. So time is a wasting. It takes time to track down where you can see them for free.
The Academy is allowed to nominate ten but this year they settled on eight. They are:
- The Father: Anthony Hopkins as a senior citizen starting dementia.
- Judas and The Black Messiah: The story of the assassination of Fred Hampton, a Black Panther leader.
- Mank: Gary Oldman playing the writer of the movie Citizen Kane
- Minari: A Korean family moves from the Bay Area to Arkansas to start a farm.
- Nomadland: A highly regarded movie with Frances McDormand about travelers in the US.
- Promising Young Woman: Nothing more about this one, do not want to spoil it for you.
- Sound of Metal: A rock music drummer loses his hearing.
- The Trial of the Chicago 7: The title says it all.
And I can recommend others that should be watched:
- Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom: Boswick and Viola Davis
- Mauritanian: Jody Foster at Gitmo Bay
- Da 5 Bloods: Spike Lee and the Vietnam War
I have watched them on Netflix, VOD, HBO Max, Amazon Prime, etc. Enjoy.
