The Other Day I Mentioned That I Was Working On Some Tax Accounting For Duane Gomer, Inc.
The person said “Don’t you have an accountant?” I said that I am an accountant. Yes, I was schooled as an accountant, interned as an accountant, was an accountant in the Navy, and worked as a Civil Servant for a few years as an accountant. Of course on tax work, I do have Earl Salter check all my returns.
What Else Can I Do?
Not much, but I did at one time consider myself a basketball official. This was the years ago when I was in Germany and worked up to doing European Championships for the military. When I came back to California, it was a long road to work up that way and I much more enjoyed teaching at UCLA in their Evening Real Estate Classes.
Oh, I Forgot..
Once upon a time in another galaxy I was volleyballer. But I am a poor swimmer, slow runner, not a lifter, cannot ski, ice skate, or roller skate, colorblind, no repair talent of anything, never used a washer or dryer, no foreign language skills at all, cannot sing or play any instrument, so it is amazing how I managed to feed a family and buy a home.
What secret talents do you have?
Duane is the best real estate educator I know. I and many of my commercial agents have attended his classes.
Thank you much for the comments. We would love to get more commercial agents. Since I did those sales for over two decades, it is a different world. Used to teach commercial classes including property management, analysis, syndication, etc. at UCLA nights. Do you know of any master lists or associations of commercial people. We do well with Realtors for we know where they are. Keep in touch, working on a 27 hour course on your field for the 45 hour renewal.
